Woman charged for beating child’s alleged teen bully

A 38-year-old woman from San Juan City was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for allegedly beating a 17-year-old girl whom she accused of bullying her child.

Reports from the San Juan City Police Station and the Eastern Police District said that the unidentified woman was arrested at her house on N. Domingo Street in Barangay Progreso, San Juan City, after an operation launched by authorities from the Warrant and Subpoena section.

The investigation report stated that the suspect beat the victim using a broom stick, hitting her in different parts of the body. According to the suspect, the victim has repeatedly called her 10-year-old child ugly, which prompted her to take action.

Records showed, however, that the victim was falsely accused.  After the incident, she informed her parents who decided to file complaints against the suspect.

The minor sustained contusions, abrasion and wounds in different parts of the body, according to a medical examination. The suspect is now under the custody of the San Juan Police.

She will face charges for violation of certain sections of R.A. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.  The court has recommended a bail of P80,000 for the suspect’s temporary freedom. /ee
