A US Navy veteran was arrested for drug dealing in Angeles City alongside an Australian alleged to have been a customer.

Gary Timothy Lamb, aged 56, was the subject of a police sting operation in his apartment in Clark View Subdivision in Barangay  Malabanias yesterday afternoon (Saturday, June 30).

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, told the Inquirer that Australian Wayne Michael Walsh, 58, and 30-year-old Mary Jane Mina, a Filipina, were also in the apartment when Lamb was caught selling drugs to an undercover cop.

According to police, the entrapment operation was launched after it was alleged that Lamb regularly sold drugs within the local expatriate community.

Officers of the Central Luzon drug enforcement unit seized six sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), three medium-sized sachets of dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are now detained at the PDEA detention facility in Angeles City. Navy veteran Lamb will be charged for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165. It has not yet been confirmed what charges will be filed against Walsh and Mina.

Navy veteran not alone

Last week we reported on how a Russian father and son were arrested in Angeles City on suspicion of selling ecstasy on Fields Avenue.

The two men were identified as Vladislav Rozhdestvensky, 64, registered as a resident of Santa Monica, California, and Boris Mabonga Rozhdestvensky, 23, a resident of nearby Mabalacat City.

According to PDEA regional director Gil Pabilona, Vladislav and Boris sold various types of illegal drugs, in particular so-called ‘party drugs’ such as ecstasy.

Pabilona said the two suspects were arrested after allegedly selling drugs to a police officer who was posing as a buyer during a buy-bust operation.

“The suspects are categorised as high value targets because they are foreign nationals. During their arrest, assorted illegal drugs were recovered from their possession,” Pabilona added.

Seized from the suspects were 27 ecstasy tablets worth 54,000 pesos, one gram of cocaine worth 5,800 pesos and five grams of marijuana leaves with an estimated value of 600 pesos. The marked bank notes used in the entrapment operation were also recovered.
