To Walk the Earth
Shay CullenI walk the earth and see that life is everywhere,
In every plant and insect, in the forests, in the woods, Where the rocks are laid and seem so bare yet there the moss still grows.
In the water of the streams, in the ponds and rivers fish have life from algae and birds and insects in great abundance thrive.
The water from the forest gives life to all and to the ocean the river flows.
The Planet unites all its forms, it brings purpose,
forces coordinate great and small; the Earth is alive.
All creatures have every right to live, each need the other and have their role to play,
By giving, sharing, together makes the Earth what it always was and is today,
A living entity, adapting, straining, stressed to revolt, and change its nature with the rising co2 and we experience a violent changing world that is here to stay.
A single, unified organism, a living planet, orbits the solar system, travels the galaxy, which moves around the universe, where all the physics and cosmic science work as one.
Supportive and dependent, one in all, by gravity is it done.
Earth’s living force did evolve and come to be,
from the geyser’s pools bacteria made the air to breathe and life emerged, and all creatures evolved to walk the Earth that we can know and see.
One creature among the many has evolved and lived with malicious intent to exterminate their own and all other living things,
Through violence and war with each other and the natural world destruction brings.
So awake to the suffering of the Earth and change our ways and with each other work to restore and rewind, and help the Earth to live.
