The Preda theatre group
The Preda theatre group is composed of Filipino youth some of them recovered victims of human trafficking and child abuse. They preform a musical drama with compelling emotional impact. The musical play shows the resilience, emotional and moral strength and fighting spirit of young people when they are exploited and determined to fight back for freedom. The musical play ‘Once we had a dream” is a story of courage and bravery by young people telling their own story through drama. It tells of the plight of young people in a village damaged by a burst dam that floods their community and some are compelled to seek employment abroad their recruiter is in fact a child trafficker and when they arrive in another country they are forced to work in a sex bar and are enslaved in the sex industry yet they fight for their freedom. The story exposes the reality of child sexual abuse and human trafficking in the sex industry. This is for an audience of 16 and older.

The power of live theatre to educate, enlighten and encourage social involvement by the audience by this choreographed musical play. It is preformed by the young players of the Preda Foundation and keeps the audience’s attention by its sheer emotional intensity. The group of actors are dedicated advocates of children’s rights and defenders of the environment. The musical tells a moving story of love, tragedy and redemption.
