The leader of the free
Che-Ku-lin
We were rulers for our Queen and Country, we were masters of the earth,
Our empire spread to every land
the destiny of our birth.
So princes, peasants, friends or foe
go grovel in the dirt ,banish hope of freedom bury all your woe,
You are the servant slaves of empire
Your lives are in our hands,
Your kingdoms and your heritage,
your temples and your lands.
You were the humbled subjects in the lands we once possess taken by the musket no right
to ask redress.
So deliver up the gold, we said, pay tribute with your wealth, if poverty brings on hunger just tighten up your belt.
Your crops and barns belong to us, the cotton, and the grains,
be loyal and faithful subjects, Victoria in London reigns.
And so it was for many years Rebellions rose and fell
Then the bloody wars to end all wars threw humanity into hell.
Millions killed, millions dead
no one left to plant or fix a broken shed.
Cities were destroyed by greed for power and gold,
All buildings down and every child and woman sold. The world was sick at the magnitude of the gore, Some nations ceased to be and Empires were no more.
The subjects in the Far Off lands where the empire once was strong, Had nothing left but hunger
They would right that sinful wrong.
So London needed building,
they would do it with their hands,
so from every corner of the realm they left their famine lands.
Rainbow people of color, race and creed, to their sovereign Queen they came
to provide for Britain’s need.
They worked the dirty jobs that the natives so detest Their culture was both beautiful and delightfully diverse. They became as British as the British,
it was colonialism in reverse.
But the times they were a changing
the singer truly said, the subjects came to claim their right, the empire now long dead.
The “masters of the earth” as yet believe, that they alone should rule,
in that they are so wrong, you know, there is the democratic tool
The rainbow people came to vote they took a stand at last there was nothing they should fear, no blaming of the past.
Accusations came a flying from the dandy billionaire
I am the rightful claimant to be the London City Mayor. Yet the people chose their leader for all to love and see,
a Muslim Man, named Khan, the leader of the free.
End .
