The GBI has arrested a South Georgia couple, both of whom are police officers, in connection with abuse of their adopted children.

Tracy Jones, 47, is an officer with the Jacksonville (Fla.) Police Department and Rosemary Jones, 36, is an officer with the Poulan Police Department in Worth County, the GBI said Tuesday in a news release.

Worth County is about 183 miles south of Atlanta.

Both parents were charged with two felony counts of cruelty to children in the first degree and Rosemary Jones was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of false imprisonment, both of which are felonies, the GBI said.

They were arrested in Sylvester and booked into the Worth County Jail.

Anyone with information concerning the case is asked to call the GBI office in Sylvester at 229-777-2080.
