AN EVIL couple who drugged their own children and forced them to take part in ‘swinger’ sex abuse sessions with paedos have been handed a record jail sentence.
The twisted mother and stepfather were jailed for 28 and 26 years respectively – the longest jail sentences ever handed down in Western Australia for child sex crimes.
The 41-year-old mother and 47-year-old stepfather can’t be named to protect the identity of their children.
Their sickening crimes were discovered by police after SD cards with footage of their abuse were found in a home in Perth in January 2018.
The recordings, which have been described by a judge as “depravity of the highest order”, showed the couple and other men repeatedly sexually abusing the woman’s daughter who was at the time about eight-years-old.
According to ABC news, the children were abused for four years from when the girl was five and her brother was just three-years-old.
The young girl told police that she and her younger brother were being repeatedly abused by their parents.
She was also forced to take part in sex abuse sessions with other adults, including two separate occasions involving women who she said were named “Claire” and “Jody”.
The sessions would often begin with the children being forced to watch pornographic movies and sometimes they were given a “stupefying substance” which is believed to be methylamphetamine.
HORRENDOUS BREACH OF TRUST
The girl, who is now in her teens, watched the sentencing at the District Court in Pert via a video link in another location.
She said the first time the abuse happened was after she had a nightmare and went to her parent’s bedroom seeking comfort.
Judge Bruce Goetze said the crimes were a horrendous breach of trust and that the couple had shown no regard “whatsoever” for their victims.
The mother was a prostitute who worked out of the family home while the 47-year-old man admitted to repeatedly molesting his two daughters from a previous relationship.
The children’s mother will be eligible for parole after 26 years and the stepfather after 24.
Western Australian police launched Taskforce Mirzam into the child sexual abuse in March 2018 after the recordings were found.
Last year one of the men recorded abusing the girl in this case, was jailed for 21 years but his term was cut on appeal to 17 years.
