Preda Foundation Conducts Speaking Engagements on Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Bullying at Gordon Heights 1 Elementary School
In an effort to raise awareness and foster a safer environment for children, the Preda Foundation conducted an impactful speaking engagement at Gordon Heights 1 Elementary School on February 12, 2025. The foundation, known for its work in promoting the rights of children and advocating against abuse and violence, delivered insightful presentations on crucial topics such as domestic violence, child abuse, and bullying.
These sessions aimed to educate 248 grade four students and 13 faculty members about the signs of abuse, the importance of speaking out, and how to create a supportive, and understanding community for those who may be suffering in silence. Through interactive discussions, the Preda advocacy team, led by Nicole Ann Fernandez, empowered the children with her meaningful insights, knowledge, and tools to recognize and address these issues within their own lives and communities.
The speaking engagements were carefully designed to be age-appropriate and sensitive to the emotional needs of young students. By addressing such critical topics early on, the Preda Foundation hopes to encourage a culture of respect, empathy, and kindness among children, while also providing them with resources to seek help if they or someone they know is affected by violence or bullying.
The school administration and parents have expressed gratitude for the Preda Foundation’s efforts, acknowledging the importance of tackling these difficult subjects in a safe and supportive setting. The sessions were met with positive feedback, and the foundation is committed to continuing its outreach programs, ensuring that children receive the education and support they need to grow up in an environment free from harm.
