Operation Candyman

In yet another successful operation, the FBI recently announced that over 89 persons in over 20 US states have been charged in the first phase of a nation wide crackdown on the proliferation of child pornography on the Internet. During the course of this investigation known as Operation Candyman over 266 searches were conducted with more searches anticipated. To date 27 persons have been arrested and have admitted to prior molestation of over 36 children. Individuals identified in Operation Candyman include a little league coach, a teacher’s aide, a mentor from Big Brothers Big Sisters, foster care parents, medical professional, military personnel and law enforcement officers. Operation Candyman was a year-long undercover operation. It is estimated that there were over 7000 members of Candyman with 2400 residing in foreign countries.
