The PWJA, under the leadership of Justice De Castro, has been tapped by international institutions to contribute to the enrichment of the discussions by judges, lawyers, and legal experts from different countries on women’s rights, gender equality, and judicial administration.

SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES

Every year, the officers and members of the PWJA get the chance to share their knowledge and establish linkages with the members of the IAWJ. The PWJA has been invited to participate in international fora to promote the protection of the rights of women and children around the world and advance the improvement of the administration of justice through knowledge sharing and best practices.

The PWJA has remained true to its objectives of: providing the platform for the exchange of views and information among women judges in the Philippines and in other countries; promoting the welfare of women judges in the Philippines; improving the administration of justice toward the efficient management of courts and court dockets; providing a continuing legal education for its members; and, initiating and undertaking judicial reforms.

The Supreme Court has institutionalized the recommendation of the PWJA to computerize all courts, upgrade office equipment and court structures, provide steady and adequate supplies, and increase the benefits of court personnel.

Through the years, the PWJA has grown into a strong association of 752 exemplary women judges dedicated to their sacred and sworn duty to do justice to every person at all times.
