We at the Preda Foundation are happy to announce that the Preda New Dawn Home in Liloan, Cebu is thriving and successfully giving new life to children in conflict with the law and children at risk referred to us by local social workers and/or family court judges. There are at present 16 boys in the home and we expect to accept more children in the coming weeks. This alternative home for these children is funded by Preda’s partner Aktionsgruppe “Kinder in Not” e.V based in Windhagen, Germany.
In relation to this, the Preda Foundation is looking for one (1) Facilitator/Psychotherapist. The Facilitator/Psychotherapist must be male and able to speak Cebuano. Attached is a full job description and qualification requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
I. JOB IDENTIFICATION: Psychotherapist
REPORTS TO: Project Coordinator/Executive Committee
Position Summary
The Psychotherapist shall be responsible in addressing the psychological needs of the children, conduct psychological assessment and implement psycho-therapeutic interventions to clients.
Specific duties and responsibilities:

- Conducting clinical interview with a newly admitted resident to ascertain required information and also other details including the child’s family history, relationships with family members, influences, and their traumatic and joyful experiences;
- Administering psychological testing;
- Interpreting and evaluating psychological testing;
- Assisting the Social Worker in formulating intervention plans by providing input about each child’s requirements regarding behavioral modification and/or issues that may have arisen during counseling or psychological therapy sessions;
- Preparing behavioral observation reports and quarterly behavioral progress reports following existing guidelines;
- Administering regular psychotherapy known as Emotional Expression or Primal Therapy to the residents;
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions on a regular basis and as required to assist the resident’s behavioral modification;
- Developing and administering special modules for specific groups of residents such as those with no charges filed or those with behavioral problems;
- Developing/administering special modules for all the residents such as positive coping mechanisms;
- Referral of residents for psychiatric evaluation if necessary;
- Facilitating and monitoring residents during the daily programs as required
- Functioning as facilitator/houseparent as may be required;
- Performing any other duties as may be required by his/her immediate supervisor or the EXECOM from time to time
Minimum Qualifications:

- BS Psychology or BS Social Work Graduate
- 1 Year relevant experience (if without working experience, relevant OJT experience may suffice)
- At least 24 hours of relevant training
