The jail rescue project of Preda for youth in conflict with the law is attracting the attention and the support of distinguished visitors from Germany. Father Shay Cullen is being invited to make a presentation at the German Parliament this 2012 before the Economic Cooperation and Development committee headed by Dagmar G. Wohrl MsB, Former Parliamentary State Secretary and chairwoman of the committee.
A group of the distinguished committee members visited the Philippines last August 2011 and joined the Preda jail rescue team with Fr. Shay Cullen, the President of Preda Foundation and Emmanuel Drewery and Shiela Daet, Preda social workers. The committee overlooks the development aid that is given by the German people to developing countries.
During the visit they witnessed the sub-human jail conditions where minors are jailed with adults in overcrowded cells. Preda is working to transfer the prisoners to better humane conditions and succeeded in closing the Paranaque jail visited by the committee members. The committee members were present when Miguel, a minor was released to the custody of Preda.
