Filthy mattresses, toddlers’ shoes and dog collars: Inside the squalid Philippines home of ‘sweating US predator who filmed the sexual abuse of children for international online pedophile ring’
Vile images have emerged from inside the home of an American man suspected of exploiting Filipino children and using webcams to sell videos, images and livestreams.
David Timothy Deakin, 53, was arrested at his Philippines home last month in what was potentially the largest ever seizure of illicit digital content in the country.
Children’s underwear, toddler shoes, cameras, bondage cuffs, fetish ropes and stacks of hard drives can be seen scattered throughout the two-bedroom townhouse.
One photo shows food wrappers, cigarette butts, plastic cups and perfume spread across the work space of the suspected child cybersex operator.
In another image, a sweaty-faced Deakin is seen waiting as investigators gather evidence during the raid on his home.
At one point, the 53-year-old alleged child abuser is seen with his hands tied behind his back with an iPhone charger.
Another snap shows Deakin handcuffed, sitting on a bed where he allegedly handled online sharing of videos of children engaging in sexual acts.
Investigators also allegedly found a pipe which can be used for smoking methamphetamine, or ice.
Deakin’s arrest reveals one of the darkest corners of the internet, where paedophiles in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia pay facilitators on the other side of the world to sexually abuse children.
Authorities are reviewing about 30 hard drives, as well as numerous computers, to find suspected buyers and victims.
In his computer files, videos and images of children engaged in sex acts were allegedly found.
Deakin has been charged with cybercrime, child pornography, child abuse and child trafficking.
The 53-year-old suspect, originally from Peoria, Illinois, has been in the Philippines since 2000.
He told The Associated Press he didn’t make videos of children.
Webcam child abuse is increasing rapidly in the Philippines, with a growing pool of paedophile buyers around the world.
The work of Preda Foundation is focused on alleviating the physical, emotional, psychological and sexual abuse and suffering of children and preventing abuse through community education and social media.
