Embassy of Canada in the Philippines provides financial support to Preda project
The Preda Foundation is pleased to announce that starting in July 2022, it will be cooperating with the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines in implementing a two-year project titled “Improving Access to Protection, Recovery, and Justice for Male and Female Children-survivors of Abuse, Sex Trafficking, and Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.” The project will respond to the need for protection and recovery by children survivors of sexual violence, trafficking, and online sexual abuse and exploitation. The project hopes to reduce the vulnerability of at least 100 target beneficiaries- child victims of various abuse and exploitation and those at risk- through increased awareness on available services. It will also provide much-needed direct services to the children-survivors such as protective custody, education, therapy and healing, legal assistance, and aftercare.
Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development (DFATD) will make a contribution of up to CAD 95,927.81 (ninety-five thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven and 81/100 Canadian dollars) towards the implementation of the above-named Project. It is part of a program called the Canada Fund for Local Initiative (CFLI) that provides “risk-tolerant, catalytic funding for local civil society organizations delivering small-scale, high-impact advocacy projects that align with Global Affairs Canada’s priorities, including Environment and Climate Action, Peace and Security, Inclusive Governance, and Human Dignity and Gender Equality.”
