Cops rescue six kids, including two in cages ‘on the brink of death’ in ‘worst case of child abuse’

Incredible footage shows the moment cops rescued ‘six severely abused children’, including two young boys, aged nine and 11, from “the worst” case of child abuse they’d ever seen.

Upon entering an apartment, officers were horrified to find one child with two black eyes swollen shut, along with numerous marks and bruises all over his emaciated body.

The child was in such a critical state that his father, Travis Doss, 31, reportedly believed he had beaten him to death. Alongside Doss, his wife Amanda Stamper, 33, has also been charged in connection with abuse of their seven children, six of whom were allegedly subjected to severe physical abuse.

Officers reportedly discovered the children locked in a dog cage at the apartment near Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard during the callout on June 11.

Travis Doss has been charged with over 40 offences, including multiple counts of child abuse and allegations of sex trafficking involving his wife.

Amanda Stamper faces seven charges of child abuse, one for each of the children, including their two-year-old daughter, who is her only biological child with Doss. The couple now faces indictment by a Clark County grand jury.

Disturbing footage obtained by 8NewsNow revealed the appalling conditions in which the children were allegedly living – where they were locked in cages, while a pitbull roamed freely in the cramped apartment.

The officers, upon rescuing the children, brought them into the daylight where they began to recount the details of their alleged abuse, involving beatings with belts, cords, and even a frying pan.

The emaciated child locked in the cage told officers that he was not given sufficient food and was forced to share meager meals with his siblings or eat discarded food from the trash.

He also claimed how his father violently struck his face while he was trapped in the cage.

The discovery unfolded when police were called to a nearby Walgreens store, where Amanda Stamper sought refuge from her abusive husband, fearing for her life. She disclosed the grim conditions in the apartment to the responding officers.

She reportedly told police she believed one of her children ‘looked dead for the last five days.’

Amanda Stamper later told 8 News Now that she herself was a victim of severe domestic abuse. She said: “I was abused as well, not just them. He would use my children and my family if I was ever to call the police like he would go find my family and my kids, he’s just a really violent person’.”

Currently pregnant, she said she felt remorse for not seeking help sooner and apologised for the children’s prolonged suffering.

Stamper’s public defender maintained that she had not physically abused the children. Prosecutors acknowledged that Stamper worked as a sex worker under Doss’s direction.

Both Doss and Stamper appeared in court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. Authorities are ensuring that the rescued children receive the necessary care and support.
