Colorful evening on fair trade with guests from the Philippines – Fair mangos for children’s rights

Carnival and the commitment to children’s rights worldwide go hand in hand in Monheim am Rhein. Every year the city provides all participants in the carnival processions with fair trade sweets. This includes mango fruit gum. The fair trade mangos are grown by the child protection organization Preda in the Philippines. Monheim residents now have the unique opportunity to learn more about the people and stories behind the sweets first hand.

On September 24th, Father Shay Cullen and Francisco Bermido from Preda will visit the city and provide exciting insights into their work for children’s rights and fair trade in the Philippines. The evening will be framed in a carnival spirit with performances by the children’s carnival dance groups. At the beginning, a fair mango buffet invites you to get in the culinary mood for the evening. Monheim’s fair trade activists will also present themselves in the foyer.

Come and find out what fair trade does for the people in the Philippines and how fair trade Kamelle combines local joy with a commitment to protecting children!
