CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The naked body of a female child, possibly around 7 years old, was found on a roadside in Kawit, Cavite Wednesday morning, the local police said.
Police said the girl was found with a thin rope still tied around her neck, leading them to suspect she was strangled to death. She also had bruises on her face.
Case investigator Police Officer 2 Gabriel Gonzales said a scavenger found the girl’s body on a grassy roadside in Barangay Congbalay at around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.
“We are checking our police stations in the area if there was any girl reported missing,” he said.
Gonzales said authorities were also conducting an autopsy to determine if the child was raped.
