Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma recovers from COVID-19

(UPDATED) Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma and retired bishop Antonio Rañola, who also recovered from COVID-19, are both discharged from the hospital

Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma recovered from COVID-19 and was discharged from the Perpetual Succor Hospital in Cebu City on Sunday, February 28.

Retired bishop Antonio Rañola, who has also recovered from COVID-19, joined the archbishop upon release from the hospital at 5 pm on Sunday.

On the evening of February 18, Palma was rushed to the hospital after showing symptoms of the coronavirus.

In the middle of January, the archbishop was also hospitalized after showing COVID-19 symptoms.

Rañola, meanwhile, was admitted to the hospital for severe coughing and tested positive for COVID-19 on February 21.

As of Saturday, February 27, Cebu City’s active cases are at 2,992. The city recorded 114 new active cases and 174 additional recoveries. The total active cases in Central Visayas are now at 6,602. – Rappler.com
