Dear friend, welcome back to my story.
This is a story that shares with you—and many others—the purpose and meaning of my life. While walking among humans as one of them, I called myself the Son of Man, meaning “I am one with humanity.” I came to teach, by word and by example, a better, more caring, and supportive way of life for all people.
I made friends with my followers. I served the poor, fed the hungry, healed the sick, freed the oppressed and enslaved, and brought them justice and freedom. I gave them hope and dignity, and showed them that my Father loves them through me. I am God with them. Many joined and believed that such goodness and truth could move mountains of suffering, exploitation, and evil.
Many ignored my message and rejected me. They chose a life wasted in emptiness. I challenged and opposed wrongdoing. Some made me their enemy, though I wished to be their friend. Others plotted against me to stop the good work that would transform society.
They failed, and my mission has succeeded. Millions of good people know me today, follow me, and work to save the poor and the victims, changing society so that justice and love may reign.
Know this truth: my message has withstood the test of time and remains just as relevant and meaningful today as it was over two thousand years ago. The message is simple: if people turn away from wrongdoing, believe in me, and follow my words and example, they will transform the world and find eternal love and happiness.
I brought that message when I taught humanity to love one another as they love themselves—to care for their neighbor just as they want others to care for them.
I challenge you to be like the Good Samaritan—to be that kind, caring person who helped the wounded, dying man who had been attacked and left to die by robbers. He saved the victim, healed his wounds, brought him to a place of care, and supported his recovery. That is what it means to love your neighbor. Let us do this together—to help all those in need.
Come again, and share truth and friendship while working for justice.
