Aftercare clients gather at Preda for annual Christmas party

Twenty-seven former residents of the Preda children’s home gathered last 20 December 2023 for their monthly seminar and annual Christmas Party. The activity was organized and facilitated by aftercare social worker Rose G. Casta. Most of the aftercare clients are enrolled in elementary and high school. The Preda Foundation gives them monthly educational allowance through pre-paid ATM cards or G-cash.

Reyna Acobera, LPT discussed Mental Health: “Stress & Coping Mechanism.” Father Shay Cullen, founder of Preda Foundation, also gave input to the aftercare clients regarding the importance of education and the pursuit of justice. He told the aftercare clients that Preda will continue to support them until they finish their studies.

Francisco Bermido Jr., President of Preda Foundation, updated the aftercare clients as regards the status of their legal cases. Most have achieved convictions already while other cases were archived since the suspects are still at large.

Emmanuel Drewery, Executive Director of Preda Foundation, interviewed the aftercare clients individually to gather feedback from them as regards their experience while they were at Preda. This is aimed at understanding what works and what does not work in the program and improving its implementation.
