Lord, You were just a simple son of a carpenter, working all Your life in the small village until You heard the call to challenge the injustice and the wrongdoing in the world. And You read the scripture in the synagogue of Nazareth—the words of the prophet Isaiah—to save the people, to set them free, to give sight to the blind, and to declare a period of joy.
You went on to show in practice and in word how the world should live and love each other and be Good Samaritans—to stop injustice, to respect the children and the poor, and to bring equality to all so that they will love one another and not hurt, kill, or oppress each other, but live a life helping, caring, and supporting each other, in Your name.
You became a servant of the servants, a washer of Your disciples’ feet, a humble person—but the Son of God Almighty—who came to show us how to live in justice and in peace.
