NBI raid on cybersex den in Taguig

Nine teenagers were rescued as the National Bureau of Investigation raided a suspected cybersex den in Taguig City, a report from GMA News’ early evening newscast “24 Oras” said Wednesday.

According to the report, the NBI’s Anti Human Trafficking Division arrested the 30-year-old suspect allegedly in charge of the cybersex operations.

The NBI AHTRAD said the suspect would molest the victims while taking video footage which he would then show online to his foreign customers.

The suspect also allegedly invited his foreign customers to come to the Philippines so they can abuse the teenagers.

“Makakasuhan po siya ng violation ng Republic Act 9208, ‘yung Anti-Human Trafficking Act as ammended at ‘yung child abuse. At kung ito ay 12 years and below maaring pumasok dito yung statutory rape,” NBI AHTRAD Chief Atty. Eric Nuqui said.

NBI AHTRAD said some parents of the victims knew that their children were being used in illegal activities.

Seized from the target area were computers, laptops and sex toys which will be used to bolster the case against the suspect.

The NBI was able to corner the suspect with the help of the US Homeland Security which provided undercover information pointing to his illegal activities. — Andrei Medina/ELR, GMA News
