71st International Human Rights Day | Preda Foundation, Inc.

On the Occasion of the 71st International Human Rights Day last 10 December 2019 Fr Shay Cullen, founder of the Preda Foundation, was invited to the German City of Weimar that gives the Weimar Human Rights Award annually “to those fighting for freedom and equality, the prevention of genocide, the right to free speech, and the respect and preservation of minority rights.”

Fr Shay Cullen received the Weimar Human Rights Award in 2000 for his work defending the rights of children and women, victims of human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation in the Philippines.

This year, the City invited Weimar Human Rights Award laureates including Fr Shay Cullen to grace the awarding ceremony. In his speech, Fr Shay Cullen challenged governments as “the sex trade is allowed by government and it corrupts and degrades family values. If the sexual abuse of minors is done and is allowed in the sex bars with foreigners, then the biological father or live-partner of a mother with children think they can rape the children. These young victims cannot endure the abuse and they run away to the streets, there they are recruited by the human traffickers and sold to sex bars and the cycle of abuse goes on.”78920736 3387246618013062 76032461716324352 o
