Four children rescued from a Canadian national in Bogo City in Cebu earlier this month have been turned over to the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children.
Cebu vice governor and PCWC chairperson Agnes Mapale said the children will be brought to a facility managed by the PCWC and Department of Social Welfare and Development, GMA Cebu reported.
The four minors aged 9, 11 and 14 will undergo psycho-social therapy at the facility, GMA Cebu’s Gregy Magdadaro reported.
Magpale said the minors will not be influenced by their relatives while local authorities pursue charges against the Canadian.
She also reminded parents to keep watch over their children.
Bogo City police rescued the four from a lodging house where they were brought by the Canadian last April 6.
Investigation showed two of the four were “pimped” by their own grandmother and mother.
