3 minors rescued from sex trafficker in Lucena

LUCENA CITY – Three high school students were rescued by the police from a suspected sex trafficker in an entrapment operation here Tuesday afternoon.

Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, chief of the Lucena City Police Station, said a guardian of one of the rescued victims reported to the police about the sex trafficking operation.

Cabatingan immediately dispatched a team of operatives which was also joined by policemen from Pagbilao town where the informant resides, to arrest the suspect in an entrapment operation.

Police arrested Myrjane Cayasa, 18, and rescued three female students, aged 16 and 17.

They were rescued at 101 Hotel in Barangay Bocohan at around 2 p.m.

Cayasa, a resident of this city, has been allegedly acting as a pimp to the victims, also all city residents, police said.

In an interview, Cabatingan said the victims were being offered by Cayasa to have sex with her clients in exchange for P1,500 each.

Workers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development took custody of the rescued victims.
