2 arrested for child abuse in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – A good Samaritan noticed a child limping in the area of Northern Avenue and Beulah Avenue on Sunday when they called 911. The child was taken to the hospital and examined.

The child had several broken bones, lacerations and contusions throughout their body that were in different stages of healing. 11 News is choosing to not reveal the name or gender of the victim. Detectives with the Special Victims Section and Identification Section took over the investigation.

Later on Sunday, 35-year-old Perry Armstrong and 30-year-old Kendra Medina were arrested for child abuse charges. Armstrong was arrested for child abuse with serious bodily injury and second-degree assault with domestic violence. Medina was arrested for complicity to child abuse. Both the child and another juvenile were placed into protective custody.

The Pueblo Police Department commends the actions of the good Samaritan who stopped to assist the child.
